Sparkle Evening for a Hampshire Children’s Charity
A Hampshire Children’s Charity held a Sparkle Evening at the Rose Bowl the home of Hampshire Cricket Club. – A Fashion Show and lots of stalls to interest the ladies ranging from Jewellery, Make- Up. Stoles, Bags and even hairdressers staging live hair cuts!
Jas Fashions had been invited to stage the fashion show and booked some 15 months in advance.
A few weeks before the event, the charity contacted Jas Fashions and a meeting was held at the venue – the Rose Bowl in Southampton. This is a stunning pavilion building with floating roof - very modern and prestigious.
Initially it had been planned that the show would be held in an upstairs suite and the stalls would be downstairs, it was agreed with the venue to stage the entire event downstairs, the stalls being in the Atrium and the show in the conference room just off.
The facilities manager Andy was very helpful and our meeting proved beneficial to all – as when Jas Fashions arrived on the day the room was set up, tables arranged and changing for models and audience already prepared.
An audience of over 250 were expected, welcome drinks and raffle tickets were to be sold on arrival, with the public taking their seats for a 7.30p.m. show.
All our models arrived and selected their outfits, Jas Fashions had 6 ladies, one a lady in her early 60’s who assured us she had never done anything like this before but on seeing her on the catwalk we thought she was a professional! Two other lady models had met JAS Fashions before – one as a model at a school Jas Fashions had supported and another as a member of the audience. We had two younger models – both of whom looked gorgeous in anything they tried on.
The compere for the evening was to be the Power FM Radio Presenter, Donna Alos.
The show was a great success – the children did so well – and even the boys enjoyed it – the little 6 year old girl had been practising for weeks and it showed – she was a star and the lady model who brought all her own accessories, sold all of the brown wrap dresses as she looked so good in it along with her own brown cap!
After the show the chairs were removed from the room so the audience had ample room to browse and buy, plus mingle in with the other stalls.
It was a great night and the children’s charity raised over £2575.00 which will enable them to continue to fund their services, to provide education, care, support and developmental services for children and adults.
